Youth from seven European countries learned how to support the integration of refugees from Ukraine The youth exchange “In The Theater You Have To Be Ready For Anything” , in which young people from seven European countries (Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Spain and Serbia) took part, helped the project participants learn how to support the integration of refugees from Ukraine in the local communities that we co-create. During the youth exchange, the project participants prepared a play telling the story of a Ukrainian theater group performing in Ukraine, which had to confront the outbreak of war in its country and, as a result, an extremely difficult reality. The preparation of the play was preceded by theater workshops led by Piotr Niedojadło (musician, actor performing at the L. Solski Theater in Tarnów) as well as a visit to the L. Solski Theater during which the project participants had the opportunity to learn about the backstage realities of the Theater’s work. During the youth exchange, the 42-person project group also had the opportunity to meet with the Director of the Communal Cultural Center in Wierzchosławice and the Mayor of the Wierzchosławice Commune, who told the youth taking part in the project about the help for refugees from Ukraine in the Wierzchosławice Commune over the last two years. The organization of the project was supported by: the Department of SociallCommunication of the Tarnów City Office, Tarnów Tourist Information, the Communal Cultural Center in Wierzchosławice, the Wierzchosławice Commune Office, the L. Solski Theater in Tarnów. The project took place on March 16-23 this year in Wierzchosławice. The host of the youth exchange was the Tarnów non-governmental organization Stowarzyszenie Inicjatyw Kulturalno-Młodzieżowych Art. The project was organized thanks to financial support from the Erasmus+ program.
